Welcome Renascent Hospitality

25 August 2008

Scott Somerville, Jim Petrone, and Scott Perry are pleased to announce the formation of Renascent Hospitality LLC. The new company will be headquartered in Columbus, Ohio and is anchored by the collective fifty-two years of hotel management experience among Mr. Somerville, Mr. Petrone, and Mr. Perry. Renascent will focus on hotel management for third-party owners and development of new and existing hotel projects. Renascent hopes to draw on experience but bring the dawn of a new day in hotel management.

Renascent’s initial management contracts are three hotels owned by third-party groups: a 137-room Doubletree Guest Suites property in Dayton/Miamisburg, Ohio, a 64-room Country Inn and Suites in Waterloo, Iowa, and a 64-room Country Inn and Suites in Cedar Falls, IA. The Doubletree Guest Suites is currently completing a full renovation.

Because of the principals’ successful track record and experience, Renascent Hospitality is proud to be associated with several brands including Hilton, Starwood, Wyndham, and Intercontinental Hotel Group. Somerville commented, “we couldn’t be more excited about the many prospects and the team that we have put together to manage successful hotels for our clients.”

Scott Somerville, President of Renascent Hospitality, has spent his entire professional career in the hotel industry. A graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Hospitality Management, Mr. Somerville has been directly involved with every facet of the hotel management process. The former President of FLG Hospitality, Mr. Somerville has led teams successfully through many different challenges including turnarounds and new construction projects, large and small.

Jim Petrone, Executive Vice President, will supervise all operations in all of Renascent’s hotels. Mr. Petrone has twenty years experience in hotel management, succeeding at every hotel management position from Assistant Chief Engineer to Executive Housekeeper, to General Manager of a Top 20 property for Intercontinental Hotel Group. Also a former executive with FLG Hospitality, Mr. Petrone was involved with not only hotel operations, but with supervision of renovations, new construction, and acquisitions.

Scott Perry, Vice President of Construction and Procurement, will head up new construction, renovation and purchasing for the Renascent Portfolio. A graduate of the University of New Hampshire in Hotel Administration, Mr. Perry has not only fifteen years’ hotel management experience but adds twelve years’ experience as a Project Manager with a general contractor.
